There is no doubt that Valve is one of the most important video game developers in history in its own right. To his credit, he has gems of the caliber of Half-Life 1 and 2, two parts of Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike, as well as other titles such as spin-offs Half-Life Alyx and Portal. However, in recent years this giant quite “slept”and until the arrival of Half-Life, Alyx did not dare to launch a triple A game with such an advanced technical invoice.
said title it was a critical success, and the truth is that it deserves to be considered one of the games with the best graphics quality of its generation. Ultimately, though, it led many of us to ask the question that’s been on our minds for so many years, will Valve finally release Half-Life 3? The truth is, after all this time I think it’s quite complicated, although I can’t lie to you, I haven’t lost hope.

In a recent interview, Greg Coomer, head of product development at Valve, confirmed that the company is working on the development “new games from different franchises”, and explained that not only have they not stopped developing games, but they have “a lot of titles” on their hands. According to Coomer, video game development is very important to Valve, so much so that the company has a large number of people involved in the development of these types of projects.
Does this mean Valve may be working on Half-Life 3? Coomer didn’t specify, but he said it we are working on other games in the Half-Life franchise, and that Alyx played a key role in this regard. He also ventured to clarify things about other important franchises, such as Portal, in which case he said that he would like to develop a new installment one day, as it is a “world” that deserves “further exploration”.
Personally, I have to admit that I would love to see Valve release it Half Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3Those would be two games I’d pre-purchase without a second thought, and I think they’d return Gabe Newell’s company to the position it had as a star developer in the latter half of the first decade of the 2000s. I could only choose one. I’m pretty sure I’d stick with Half-Life 3, and Gordon Freeman’s adventure deserves the same ending.
