THE WINNING TEAMS OF THE HYPERLOOP DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION AT TEKNOFEST BLACK SEA HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED:

In the studies of the Hyperloop concept, the winning teams have been determined in the ‘Hyperloop Development Competition’, sponsored and supported by Erciyas Holding, the investor and pipeline supplier of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, one of the leading companies in the world. 16 teams competed fiercely with their prototype vehicles in the 208 meter long and 1.2 meter diameter Hyperloop Tunnel, where ERCİYAS produces steel pipes for the TÜBİTAK RUTE (Rail Transportation Systems Institute) infrastructure. While KAPSÜL from Selçuk University and TURKUAZ from Gazi University shared first place, the HYPERHAWK team took second place.

The winners of the “Aviation, Space and Technology Festival – TEKNOFEST BLACK SEA Technology Races” to be held between August 30 and September 4, 2022 have been announced. The winners of the ‘Hyperloop Development Competition’, organized for the first time this year under the leadership of TÜBİTAK RUTE under TEKNOFEST, were announced at the TEKNOFEST event in Samsun. In the races, supported and sponsored by Erciyas Holding, one of Turkey’s leading investment groups, 16 teams from 38 universities competed fiercely. As a result of the evaluations on different criteria, the teams of KAPSÜL from Selçuk University and TURKUAZ from Gazi University shared the first place, while the HYPERHAWK team took second place.
Tunnel built in accordance with Hyperloop technology
As part of the competition, Erciyas Çelik Boru, a group company of Erciyas Holding, produced the steel pipes of the 208-metre Hyperloop Race Tunnel and the Vacuum Tunnel. Erciyas Holding, one of the leading companies in Hyperloop technology not only in Turkey but also in the region, has been cooperating with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies – HyperloopTT, one of the leading companies of the concept, since 2017. The Hyperloop Concept, which basically provides freight and passenger transport that can reach a speed of 1,200 kilometers in a frictionless environment in steel pipes; It is called the ‘5th Mode’, after land, sea, air and rail. The project, which first put Tesla and SpaceX company owner Elon Musk on the global agenda, is seen as the transportation technology of the future.
