He passed less than a year and a half since the arrival of the Xbox Series Xand although it was a relatively complicated period, given the huge shortcomings the market experienced, it was time to start thinking about its first evolution, either as a “minor” upgrade in which the version is maintained, but some are improving, replacing the middle generation , which should be produced either by the end of this year, or rather between the middle and the end of next year.

Yes, we are talking about a long journey that we must take, but we must keep that in mind These types of improvements and changes are not made overnight. They can take a long time, especially if they consist of improvements that involve reworking the most complex components. And of course, when we talk about its APU, it is clear that we are talking about a very, very complex component. So much so that if we expect a transfer to the Xbox Series X next year, Microsoft has to work on it.

And that’s exactly what we can read in the VGC, which points to reports according to which Microsoft is already testing new APUs for the Xbox Series X.. From the above information, it is not clear what the improvements are, which are evaluated, but suggest that they are aimed at improving their performance and efficiency (nothing that really surprises us very much).

Microsoft is already preparing a new chip for the Xbox Series X.

The state of development of this improved APU is not clear either for the Xbox Series X, which, because we don’t even know the implications of these performance improvements, makes us doubt whether this new chip will succeed the current APU in an existing version, or whether we’re at the first hint of what the revision should be, which would be the center of this generation’s life cycle. Maybe it’s the chip of the future Xbox Series X Elite? It would make sense to think about it.

Be that as it may, and although both Microsoft and Sony have been pleased with this new generation, the truth is that both have quite improvable aspects, as we have already told you here. The Xbox Series X Elite and PlayStation 5 Pro may include some performance improvements, but it won’t solve all the problems we told you then. And make no mistake, all the improvements are welcome, but there is so much work to be done that I think it is best to pass on all expectations to the next generation … and carefully.
