Kaspersky Announces New Online Cybersecurity Training for Security Operations and Threat Hunting Specialists

Developed by Kaspersky experts, the course aims to help companies develop and build a Security Operations Center (SOC) from scratch, as well as improve the skills of SOCs and the security team in detecting threats, detecting and investigating incidents. The course guides viewers through the SOC structure, information about threats and related attacks. On-demand format and practical virtual labs allow students to study at their own pace.

SOC Expertise ChallengesFor example, the lack of personnel, knowledge and skills is a well-known problem at institutions. The task of increasing professionalism in this area is important for both companies and individuals to improve cyber defense and climb the career ladder. But when it comes to corporate security operations and threat detection, it is also necessary to rely on the experience of proven experts in the industry.

Therefore, Kaspersky has added a new “Security Operations and Threat Hunting” course to its Kaspersky Expert Training portfolio. The course provides comprehensive guidance on the topic from highly experienced instructors, including Kaspersky SOC President, Kaspersky SOC Consulting President, SOC Analyst, and Researcher. In addition to setting up the security operations center, specializations, security processes and tools, the training focuses on the tactics, techniques, procedures and how to deal with modern attacks for Windows, Linux and networks.

Theft and exploitation of Windows credentials via services, Golden and Silver tickets, exploits of Linux capabilities, attacks such as spoofing and much more are covered in the course.

Through the course, students will gain a clear understanding of SOC as part of a cyber defense strategy and learn how to plan and organize security monitoring, use threat intelligence services, detect malicious activity and investigate with the ELK stack. These knowledge and skills apply to all professionals involved in security operations and threat detection, including SOC professionals with both intermediate and advanced expertise.

The training consists of six months of access to the course and 100 hours of training time for the hands-on labs. Students can study anytime, anywhere within six months of activating the access code.

Head of Kaspersky SOC Sergey Soldatovsay: “Companies need to close the expert gap and increase the effectiveness of their security operations. While the issue of additional investment is always a sensitive one, online education can be a solution to achieve these goals. With these situations in mind, we have developed training that includes a range of expertise in threat detection, incident response and malware analysis. The Kaspersky expert training combines our expertise in an optional convenient format, allowing students to combine the educational process with their business tasks. The course also helps individual specialists to develop their personal skills to unlock more career opportunities.”
