This was announced by Roman Prymus, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization, at a briefing at the Ukrainian Media Center – Ukrinform.

“From November to December, we will be able to talk about the new notification system working in permanent mode using mobile phones,” he said.

The official reported that the system sends notifications to the subscribers of mobile operators by transmitting information through official communication channels.

At the same time, new notifications have an unusual sound, different from the others emitted by the mobile phone.

“This sound is quite unpleasant and lasts for 15 to 20 seconds. It is accompanied by the phone vibrating – all to draw attention to the signal,” explained Prymus.

He noted that the system is currently running in test mode and covers 67% of subscribers (mostly owners of phones and new versions of smartphones). The developers are planning the system to work on push-button phones as well.

According to the official, the idea to introduce a new notification system arose at the beginning of the war, when SMS messages from emergency services reached subscribers, sometimes within 3-4 hours, which is unacceptable in emergency situations.

“We started this project in April when we realized that warning about various emergencies related to chemical, radiation and military threats, notification is one of the key elements of evacuation. The advantage of this system is that notifications are sent instantly even in the case of poor communication.” Said.

It is assumed that in the future, special experts in regional state administrations will deal with the notification system.
