The speed of the Internet can depend on a number of factors – both on your side and on the provider’s side, or other factors. It is worth remembering that the problem is often complex.

We bring back the fast internet

First of all, we recommend that you check the general “jamming” of your smartphone. The fact is that the processing of requests requires certain resources, for example, RAM. Therefore, if you have a lot of programs running or the entire flash memory (photos, videos, music or other files) is full, this must be done first.

  • Uninstall apps you don’t use in general and turn off those that are not currently needed. The truth is that many apps require an Internet connection and updates to work. If there are many, the sum of the background links creates a huge overhead. In addition, such applications “eat” a large part of the processor’s power, which is also involved in the process of processing requests.
  • Delete unnecessary files. Every app needs a place to cache data. Some require several gigabytes for normal operation. Therefore, not enough space in the memory of the smartphone can lead to the fact that it cannot work stably. Move valuable files to a computer or cloud and delete various screenshots that have already fulfilled their functions, low-quality photos, Russian music and other garbage, and do not forget to empty the trash.

Wrong connection type

Be sure to pay attention to the type of mobile network. 4G Internet (LTE) has been available in Ukraine since 2020, but sometimes the smartphone may choose to connect to slower 3G networks.

Different manufacturers may name this menu differently. Go to Smartphone Settings and select the menu responsible for the installation of SIM cards and mobile networks. Select the card you need and go to the “Network type” settings. Select 4G from the list.

Poor network reception

Sometimes this is also the reason for the drop in speed. Putting your smartphone in airplane mode can fix this issue as it resets some network settings. This will make your phone search for available networks again and this time it can connect to a better network. This is true even for Wi-Fi.

Data logging

Data saver mode can also slow down the internet. It is not available on all smartphones, and some manufacturers do not allow all applications to be opened at the same time, limiting themselves to individual settings for each. So if you have the corresponding setting enabled, that could be the cause of the problems.

In addition, any installed application may have its own data saving settings, which can be found in the settings. You can turn off saves for apps where you need maximum speed.

Reset network settings (for Wi-Fi)

If none of the above methods work, it may be time to do a hard network reset. In this case, all saved network settings will be completely deleted and the device will establish a new connection.

To do this, go to Settings and select the Wi-Fi control menu. Go to your link and select “Remove (forget) network”. After that, turn Wi-Fi off and back on. Select your password from the list and re-enter your password.

When completed

It is worth remembering that the speed of the mobile network can be affected by weather, geographic location (distance to antennas), the materials of which the house you are located, and many other factors. After all, there may be a problem with your provider – then calling the support service or changing the company that provides the service will help you.
