The second generation AirPods Pro earphones introduce the H2 chip, where they improve audio performance and active noise canceling technology, and offer spatial sound for a more immersive experience and touch controls.

Apple on Wednesday unveiled new products from the iPhone and Apple Watch families, and with them the next generation of AirPods Pro wireless earbuds, “the most advanced to date,” according to the company.

The H2 chip inside is designed to enhance the overall audio experience. According to Apple, it cancels out up to twice as much noise as first-generation AirPods Pro and includes a new extra-small ear cushion to improve isolation.

The new headphones feature a low-distortion audio converter and a dedicated amplifier to deliver deeper bass and clearer sound across a wider frequency range. They also include spatial audio for greater immersion.

The company has added touch controls for you to tap the touch control located on the cylindrical part of the AirPods Pro or slide your finger up or down to play multimedia audio or adjust the volume.

The new AirPods Pro also improves autonomy. Specifically, they offer up to six hours of listening with active noise cancellation and up to 30 hours total with the charging case. They’re compatible with an Apple Watch charger, as well as a MagSafe charger, a Qi-compatible charging base, or a Lightning cable.

The charging case has been renewed with sweat and water resistant design and Korean accents. In case of loss it can be found with the Precision Search app and includes a speaker that helps locate it to play higher tones.

The second-generation AirPods Pro will be available for purchase starting September 23 for $299.
