The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has announced potential dates for the launch of the Space Launch System rocket to Earth’s satellite with the “Artemis” mission.

This was reported by France24 according to Ukrinform reports.

As noted, the launch of the Space Launch System rocket, which has already been delayed twice, could take place on September 23 or 27.

The launch date will depend on whether NASA can avoid retesting the batteries of the emergency flight control system used to destroy the rocket if it deviates from a certain range into a populated area. Otherwise, the launch dates will be “postponed” for a few weeks.

NASA’s Earth Reconnaissance Systems Manager Mike Bolger said teams are working to replace the seals to address the hydrogen leak issue that caused the Space Launch System’s August 29 and September 2 launches to be cancelled. He noted that the work could be completed on Thursday.

As Ukrinform reports, according to NASA’s plan, during the first flight of the “Artemis” mission, the 98-foot Space Launch System rocket should take the empty Orion capsule into space, fly around the Moon and return to Earth 42 days later.
