The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra comes to Europe as the top of Lenovo’s range. Renamed from the X30 Pro, which launched last month in China, it packs a 200MP main camera as a standout feature, though everything else borders on the high end.

The camera system has become one of the most important components when choosing a smartphone. And compact cameras of economical range have practically disappeared from the map due to the universality of mobile phones. in cameras, good optics are always more important and software that knows how to use the number of megapixels in the sensors, but still needs to be noted when the threshold is exceeded, as the new Motorola does.

The 200MP sensor it is Samsung ISOCELL HP1. It can be used to take pictures at this resolution or to take smaller shots but with more light and in combination with two other sensors, a 50MP 114-degree wide-angle or a third with a 12MP 2X telephoto lens.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra: not just a camera

Motorola has excelled with its mid-range phones in recent years, and last month we saw the announcement of the Edge 2022 unveiled alongside the foldable Razr. The third in contention was the one that concerns us today, launched only for China and is now coming to the international market under a different name and not bad behind the scenes, starting with a premium chassis with a metal frame and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. It is IP52 certified for dust and water resistance.

ride one OLED multi-touch display with FHD + resolution and a diagonal of 6.7 inches. The panel offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz, HDR10+ and a fingerprint sensor on the display. Inside, the chipset stands out Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

It has a 4,610 mAh battery, supports 125W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and an additional 10W wireless power for charging other devices with the phone. It has a USB 3.1 Type-C port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 alternative mode, allowing you to easily connect your phone to an external display.

The main specifications are complemented by stereo speakers, dual microphones, support for NFC, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as dual SIM support. It doesn’t have an audio jack or microSD support in (bad) industry fashion.
