As part of the 91st Izmir International Fair, the winners of the Next Game Startup Game Entrepreneurship Competition were announced, which was organized to enable young entrepreneurs who want to enter the game industry to join the industry and build successful ventures to establish. In the competition, in which a total of 70 teams and 121 people participated, Cressus Games was the first team, Sky Games the second team, Qubitrate Studio the third team, and Team Pay Attention team was awarded the university association special award. Mustafa Özuslu, Deputy Mayor of Izmir Municipality, attended the award ceremony and congratulated the finalists.

The Next Game Startup Game Entrepreneurship Competition, organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized for the third time this year by Digi Game Startup Studio with the support of İZFAŞ, was held at the Kültür Park as part of the Izmir International Fair. To enable young entrepreneurs who want to participate in the game industry to set up successful game startups, support the game ecosystem in Turkey, create entrepreneurship areas in the sector for young people, strengthen the sector with new initiatives and business models , to draw the attention of entrepreneurs and investors to the sector, to combine innovation and entrepreneurship with the game sector. Interest in the competition, which was organized for this purpose, was high. Between September 7-11, 2022, a total of 121 people from 70 teams from all over Turkey worked to improve their games. While 25 teams that made it through the pre-selection made it to the semi-finals, 10 teams in the final moved on to the development phase for the award. In the first two years, with the support of Digi Game Startup Studio, on the last day the winners of the competition in which more than 10 studios became companies and invested with a total valuation of TL 9 million were announced.

zmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer, Co-Founder of Digi Game Startup Studio Doruk Demirsar and Bynogame Founder Kemal Önder presented their awards to the winning teams at the award ceremony. In the competition, the first team was cressus games, the second team was Sky Games, and the third team was Qubitrate Studio, while the team payattention team received the university associations special award. The winning teams received a total of 65,000 TL and several awards. Deputy Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Özuslu congratulated the teams from all over Turkey who are working to improve their games and recalled that Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has a lot of support and work in this area. Özuslu said: “In the future, these games that came from here, from İzmir, will spread to Turkey and all over the world. Game development, software, IT, etc. We give and will continue to give all our support to the emergence of products that can compete with the world in these areas. As long as you young people exist, there will be hope.”

Ayça Metin and Burak Akşahin, who came first in the competition, gave information about their games called Breath of Space. Young game developers said: “Our game is developed for computer platforms. Breath of Space is a third-party action game. It tells the events of an astronaut who was sent on a mission to a space mine. There are many different levels, environment design, space creatures and game mechanics that you can experience while playing the game,” he said, adding that they are happy with winning the first place and that they will continue to develop new games.
