United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based defense technology development and production company Calidus unveiled the WAHASH 8×8 amphibious armored vehicle.

According to the manufacturer, WAHASH is a modern multi-purpose platform with a new generation 8×8 wheel formula. The armored vehicle is designed to perform tasks in harsh weather, terrain and climatic conditions. Structurally, the machine is very similar to the modern 8×8 armored personnel carriers offered by the world’s leading manufacturers in the arms market, and various weapon systems can be mounted on it.

In particular, the amphibious WAHASH can be equipped with a Ukrainian BM-3 “Sturm” remote-controlled station, armed with a ZTM-1 30-mm automatic cannon and two “Barrier” laser-guided anti-tank missile launchers located on it. right side of the tower. 30 mm automatic grenade launcher AGS-17 is mounted on the left side.

WAHASH, which has a crew of three, including the driver, commander and gunner, can carry a unit of 8 infantrymen in a compartment located at the rear of the vehicle.

The vehicle can be equipped with modular armor made according to the STANAG 4569 standard, which provides Level 4 ballistic protection and Level 4 a/b mine protection.

The amphibian is equipped with a Scania DC 13 engine that can accelerate the armored personnel carrier up to 130 km/h. Two propellers mounted at the rear of the boat are used for movement on the water, providing a maximum speed of 10 km/h. The range of WAHASH 8×8 is 700 km. The combat weight of the BRT is 32,100 kg and its maximum payload is 7,500 kg.
