The wait is over, Apple has released iOS 16, the latest update to its famous operating system. This new version comes with some interesting news and assumes, as we told you back then, that end of life for iPhone 6s-6s Plus and iPhone 7-iPhone 7sas none of these terminals will be able to be updated to iOS 16.
As we already told you when the official presentation of iOS 16 took place, it seems that the end of support for these terminals is mainly due to the absence of both neural processing unit. This unit deals with tasks related to artificial intelligence and deep learning and was introduced with Apple A11 Bionic SoCpresent in iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
This means that iOS 16 will only reach iPhone 8 and above, but just so you don’t have any doubts, I will share with you full list of supported devices with the listed operating system listed from oldest to newest:

When Apple introduced this operating system, it surprised us by announcing a new lock screen with numerous customization options, among which the ability to change color, fonts and filters stands out.
Apple also introduced a new notification system which are better suited to this new lock screen and that they rotate in an overlapping fashion instead of stacking vertically in an alternating fashion. We can view them at the bottom of the screen and watch live activities.
We have others customization improvements which will allow us to create stickers using photos without a background. We will only have to drag them into the conversation to turn them into stickers, and we will be able to create wallpapers with mosaic emojis or weather.
One of the most anticipated and exciting improvements we have in iMessage, and with iOS 16 it is finally possible andEdit and cancel messages we’ve already sent using the “roll back” option if we meet the time requirements of 15 minutes to edit a message and 2 minutes to cancel it, counted from the moment of sending.
And speaking of news, with iOS 16 we can too restore those we have deleted within a maximum of 30 days after their deletionwe can mark a read message as unread if we don’t have time to reply to it, and we can filter messages on dual SIM devices.
Mail is another of the applications that has been improved with iOS 16. The most interesting ones include e.g smart search fixeswhich helps us correct spelling mistakes and use synonyms, the ability to cancel a delivery we’ve just made before the mail reaches the recipient, schedule a delivery and use rich links.
Apple has not forgotten about Safari, the well-known browser from the apple company, with which it now comes new features that improve the user experiencesuch as pinned tabs, syncing extensions and website settings, translating images on websites, and new languages.
Other interesting improvements worth mentioning are new safety features which protects against phishing, leaks and logins on other devices, new languages for live text, routes with multiple stops on Mapstracking, medication alerts, and menstrual cycle change alerts in the Health app, privacy improvements, the ability to remove duplicate photos, the ability to use Face ID in landscape, and improvements in photo editing.

The procedure is very simple, just enter “Settings > General > Software Update”. Once there, the system will automatically search for available updates and we will just have to follow the automatic installation process.
remember it it may take a few minutes and that it cannot be interrupted, so avoid updating unless you are going to be without your smartphone for a while. After completing the installation process, we will get to the iOS 16 home screen, where we will enter the SIM card password and PIN.
