An interesting leak allowed us to see all the specifications Surface gaming laptop, a new team that Microsoft will introduce in October that, as its name suggests, will specialize in gaming. We don’t have details on the design this new Surface might have, but since it’s a product aimed at the gaming market, we can expect an “aggressive” lineup and some type of customizable RGB LED lighting.

In the filtration, there is an explicit reference to the premium finish because the chassis It will be made of aluminum and magnesium alloy., and is said to be available in “platinum” and “matte black” colors. Its format should correspond to a “traditional” notebook.

What we do know quite well are its specifications, as these have been leaked in great detail. The Surface Gaming Laptop will have a PixelSense Flow display 16 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. It’s not listed, but we assume it will be AdaptiveSync compatible.

In order to move this number of pixels smoothly in current games, the Surface Gaming Laptop will come in two different configurations, one with a graphics card. GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Mobile and 4 GB of GDDR6 memory and more with GeForce RTX RTX 3070 Ti Mobile with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. There is a significant difference in performance between the two graphics cards, so much so that I think Microsoft should consider offering a mid-range configuration GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile 6 GB of GDDR6 memory.

The base model will come with a processor Intel Core i5-12500H, which has 4 high-performance Golden Cove cores and 8 high-performance Gracemont cores (16 threads in total), while the top model will feature Core i7-12700H, which has 6 high-performance Golden Cove cores and 8 high-performance Gracemont cores (total of 20 threads). Both can be configured using 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR4X memorythe type of memory that is soldered to the board and will come with a 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB SSD, depending on the option chosen.

It is clear that the Surface Gaming Laptop will be a state-of-the-art device, that it will be compatible with the latest industry standards and that it will have everything you need for a good user experience. In this sense, we can highlight his excellent autonomy (between 15 and 16 hours per battery charge) and his underweight (1.95 kilograms for the model with Core i5-12500H and 2.01 kilograms for the model with Core i7-12700H).

We don’t have details on its eventual retail price, but looking at the component list of each configuration, it’s clear that will be quite high. At this point, we have no evidence that Microsoft might launch an alternative Surface Gaming Laptop configured with AMD components, so we have to wait.
