The price of video games has experienced a significant increase with the arrival of a new generation of consoles. We already told you at the time that PS5 games would cost 80 euros and that the big companies justified this increase in development costs, which makes half sense because most of the games coming to the market are intergenerationaland they don’t bring deep enough technical changes to really support that argument.
It seemed that we would get rid of the increase in price on PC, but in the end it was not so. Square Enix was one of the first to raise the price of its games to 80 euros with Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, a title that it’s nothing more than a simple adaptation of the PS5 version. Is it fair to charge 80 euros for a PS5 adaptation of a game that is in turn a port of the original that came to PS4? I think the question answers itself.
The fact is that Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be another in increase the price of your triple A games up to $70a figure converted to Euros and after taxes could easily become 80 Euros.

At the moment, the French studio has only made explicit reference to PS5 and Xbox Series S-Series X games, but with that in mind, refers to the next generation editionlike Skulls and Bones, and that these will be the ones that will be adapted for PC, it is very likely that this price increase will eventually affect the users of that platform as well.
Looks like we’re finally getting closer to ka standardization 70-80 dollars as the new starting price of games for a new generation. This price increase will also be reflected in highly anticipated games that are very close to launch, such as Forspoken or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which will cost $70. Other titles already released, such as NBA 2K21 or The Last of Us Part I, are priced 69.99 and 79.99 euros.
Personally, I think this raising the price of games is a problem, not only because of everything it means to players economically, but also because they haven’t made changes in terms of quality or content to justify it. If anyone thinks otherwise, please explain. what The Last of Us Part I offers compared to the original costs 80 euros.
