Ukrinform correspondent expressed this in the speech of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen “On the Situation of the European Union” at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday.
“I want us to mobilize the full strength of our common market to accelerate growth and create new opportunities. We successfully connected Ukraine to our electricity grid in March – this was planned for 2024, but done in two weeks. Today Ukraine exports electricity to the European Union. That’s why I want to significantly expand this mutually beneficial trade. We have already stopped the taxes on Ukraine’s exports to the EU, we are bringing Ukraine into our European circulation, our “solidarity corridors” have been a great success (for Ukrainian grain exports). It’s time to move forward on that basis,” Von der Leyen said.
We will empower 🇺🇦 to make the most of its potential.
Building on the success of solidarity pathways to ensure uninterrupted access to the Single Market.
We bring Ukraine to our 🇪🇺 free movement area.
I’m going to Kiev today to discuss all this with the President. @ZelenskyyUa pic.twitter.com/uYxf41CIr6
