Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars Coming in 2023

The classic RPG is back with us – Suikoden I&II returns in HD remaster!

Konami Digital Entertainment BV today announced that its classic games Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be released in 2023 for PlayStation®4, XBOX ONE, STEAM® and Nintendo Switch™!

For the remaster collection announced at Tokyo Games Show 2022, Konami has confirmed some major improvements and quality of life features:

Graphical improvements

Enjoy pixel sprays and environmental art enhanced with new screen effects including lighting, clouds and shadow animations. Flickering flames, smoldering smoke, leaves and insect movements have all been specially updated to create a lively gameplay atmosphere.
Effects and direction have been redesigned, unforgettable scenes come to life in even more beautiful ways!

New Character Drawings

All character portraits have been updated to HD. Junko Kawano, who designed the characters for the original version of Suikoden released in 1995, redrawn all character portraits for Suikoden I HD Remaster Gate Rune War.

Audio Enhancements

Field Sounds – Added many ambient sounds that are not in the original version, such as running water in the river, wind, insects and running footsteps. An immersive experience like never before awaits you!
War Sounds – All sound effects are now HD. In addition to the effect of 3D effects, realistic sound greatly increases the dynamics of battles!

Game System Improvements

Many new features have been added, such as dialogue log, automatic combat and double speed combat.
