Speaking of scam calls, there are reports of firefox relay which might come in handy in certain situations.

As you probably already know, and if we haven’t reminded you, Firefox Relay is a Mozilla service that “enables the creation of email aliases click, so that the user does not have to reveal his real address every time he registers on a new site, thus avoiding spam and other nuisances that potentially threaten the security of his account.

Launched last year, the service has also been extended to Chrome (or Chromium derivatives) users through extensions, as Firefox Relay has never been an exclusive service of the Mozilla browser and can be used without installing anything, just by accessing its corresponding website. However, there are new features and one of them is its integration with Firefox.

However, there are much more interesting ones, such as an extension to the core Firefox Relay feature, from emails to phone calls and messages. In other words, Mozilla lets you create temporary phone number aliases so you can make and receive calls and text messages, and even sign up for services that require a phone number, like WhatsApp.

This is what phone aliases created in Firefox Relay will look like

How they do it remains to be seen, but the truth is that this expansion of functionality is interesting to say the least. This functionality is expected to be integrated into the service next October, so it won’t be long before we see if it’s worth paying for or not… because we mustn’t forget that Firefox Relay is a paid service.

In other words, Firefox Relay can be used for free to a very limited extent, but its essence lies in the payment of a monthly subscription, which will increase this September and settle in $1.99/EUR per month or $11.88/EUR per year (with an annual subscription, the monthly fee is 0.99 dollars / euros, which is what it costs now).

And if you’re also a Firefox user, you’ll soon have everything integrated into the same browser for better accessibility and convenience.

If you haven’t already and are interested in trying out Firefox Relay, here you go. You can also try the premium service at the current price of 0.99 dollars / euros per month, but hurry because the promotion ends in nine days. It does not invent anything, but it is a useful and convenient service.

And cheap, so it’s a way to financially partner with Mozilla, which in return gets something beyond the browser. It will be necessary to see if the implementation of phone aliases or whatever they are called will increase the price of the service.
