Recently, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra smartphone was tested in the DxOMark laboratory, where it took only fifth place in the ranking of the best camera phones, losing even to last year’s model.
Interestingly, Xiaomi did not send the Xiaomi 12S Ultra for testing, but DxOMark bought the smartphone and tested them all the same. When Huawei hit the top of this rating a few years ago and then released phones with better and better cameras every year, many manufacturers tried to break into the DxOMark rating and climb as high as possible. But DxOMark’s popularity has dropped sharply over the past two years as fewer manufacturers send their phones out for testing.
Why don’t cell phone manufacturers want their smartphones tested by DxOMark? DxOMark CEO Frederic Guichard gave the simplest and most understandable answer to this question in an interview with Jiemian News.
He noted that there are very few phones that can climb to the top of the DxOMark rankings today, and that there are even fewer smartphones that can take the top spot. And for many, it only makes sense to take first place when promoting their smartphones in the market. Source
