If we had been told about a Logitech portable console just a few months ago, the vast majority of us would have reacted with surprise, since nothing was known about the Logitech project at the beginning of the summer. Logitech G Gaming handheld. However, the company, which just launched in August, announced that it was working hand-in-hand with Tencent (we later learned that more companies were involved in the project) on a cloud gaming laptop. And if we started August with that surprise, we ended it with a leak that revealed what it looked like.
So now we needed to know its technical specifications and if possible the price and launch date, right? The good news is that Logitech has already officially revealed, all the information we needed about Logitech G. So now we can tell you everything you need to know about the console. Let’s start with that, but I’ll tell you in advance that I personally think it’s too risky a bet. Interesting, but difficult considering the price.
The first thing we see about this Logitech G is its multi-touch screen built on an Seven-inch IPS touch panel with FullHD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) in an academic aspect ratio of 16:9 and with a refresh rate of 60 hertz and a standard brightness of 450 nits. The screen sits above a large portion of the front of the console, which measures 256.84 x 117.21 x 32.95 millimeters.
Already inside we find a SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, an integrated octa-core that reaches 2.3 GHz. It is accompanied 4 gigabytes of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 gigabytes of UFS storage, which can be increased using a microSD memory card. The set is battery powered 6000 milliamps which Logitech says provides up to 12 hours of autonomy and allows for a full charge in approximately two and a half hours via the USB-C port.

Since we’re talking about a cloud gaming device, wireless connectivity is of course a key aspect of this Logitech G. So if it comes to WiFi, we’ll find out connectivity in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac) which relies on its 2 x 2 MIMO antenna. For device connectivity, it is supplemented by Bluetooth 5.1. And just in case you’re wondering how to operate it, it includes two analog sticks, a D-pad, and Y, B, A, and X buttons. There are also a few buttons on the front: Logitech G, Home, Menu, and a Menu button.
Logitech has worked with Microsoft and NVIDIA to integrate Xbox Cloud and GeForce Now on the Logitech G. The Nintendo Switch-like user interface lets you run every service, but the Xbox Cloud app is just a basic Progressive Web App (PWA), so there’s no real deep integration with the device. This also means that you can’t even pin specific cloud games to your home screen.
Logitech also announced a release date, next October 17thalthough initially it only achieves United States and Canada. As for its price, it will $349.99although as a pre-launch offer it is possible to do a presale for $299.99. So if we compare its price to the price of alternatives in the United States market, we find that it is halfway between the Nintendo Switch ($299.99) and the Steam Deck ($399).
And it is for this reason that I expressed that it seems to me a difficult bet. We are talking about a very light device with great autonomy that also offers compatibility with Android games. However, we must not forget that we are talking about a device for playing in the cloud, so we have to add a monthly subscription to the service of our choice to its price. And yes for just $50 more, it’s possible to get the Steam Deckwhich allows playing in the cloud as well as locally…
