Finland’s debt collection agency seized properties linked to Russian oligarchs close to Putin.

As Ukrinform reports, Yle is reporting on it.

The confiscation decision taken by the office in August-September concerns the properties of Boris and Arkady Rotenberg and Arkady Volozh, which are on the EU sanctions list. All of them are in the close circle of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

As the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper reported, the Debt Collection Agency seized the property of the Russian company “Yandex”, based in Finland, after the company’s founder, Volozh, was included in the EU sanctions list. According to the decision taken by the Finnish department, the Finnish shares of the subsidiary company “Yandex” and the profit from them were confiscated. The seizure is said to be unlikely to affect the company’s operations.

The official also froze shares of Lengvik Capital and two other companies owned by the Rothenberg brothers. Among the properties seized, including real estate belonging to the Helsinki Halli company and the Långvik spa hotel.

The famous Långvik Spa Hotel is located in Kirkkonummi by the sea. The hotel is managed by a company whose activities are not subject to enforcement. At the same time, the assets of Tanskarlan Centrum Oy, the owner of the land on which the hotel was built, were frozen. Freezing means, for example, that Långvik Capital cannot be sold or mortgaged without the permission of the Finnish authorities.

As reported by Ukrinform, in April Finnish authorities confiscated two Ferrari sports cars and two motorboats owned by Russian oligarch Boris Rotenberg.
