- Users were asked to provide information about the purpose of the murder, how and when the murder was supposed to occur, and then they were asked to pay a “commission” in bitcoin.
- According to law enforcement, the management has accepted thousands of orders over the years and found many paying customers.
- Husbands ordered the killing of their wives, business partners sought murderers for their colleagues, a man who lost money on a sports betting site wanted to kill a support worker who refused to help with a refund, and even ordered the murder of a 14-. years old.
- And although the “business” itself was fraudulent, customers came with very serious expectations, not knowing who they were dealing with.
According to the Romanian Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Agency (DIICOT), the raids and detentions were carried out at the request of the US authorities. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have been investigating cases involving the source for years. Many details about Besa Mafia emerged in 2016 when the site was hacked, and information about the users and orders of the site was made public.
As a result, not only five executives but also four witnesses were detained in the operation.
