The world of consoles has gone through different phases. We are meeting right now in a very curious phaseas traditional consoles coexist in two different generations with mini versions of old consoles, although it is true that the availability of each mini console has changed over time and that many have ended up being discontinued.
I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy all the key moments in console gaming history. The first one I had was Atari 2600although the first console I could really buy with my money was a SEGA Dreamcast. This console gave me a lot of joy and in later years I switched between different systems depending on which exclusives I liked the most. However, I always ended up spending more time on the PC.
My interest in consoles has always been there, after all I am a lover of video games, hardware and technology, although for a few years I put them more in the background and focus more on PC gaming. But that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about the console, A few years ago I bought a PS4 Slim to play Bloodborne and other exclusives, but I ended up putting very few hours into it and I feel like I didn’t kill it.

After seeing the next gen coming and knowing what it can do, it’s clear to me that I won’t be buying a PS5 and I ended up playing almost exclusively on PC, saving the little time I have for retro gaming on consoles. It might seem like the last console I bought was a PS4 Slim, but no, the last console i bought was a playstation classic minitaking advantage of a promotional offer that reduced its selling price to less than 50 euros.
After getting the PS4 Slim, I only bought some mini consoles that caught my eye, such as the Mega Drive Mini, Super Nintendo Mini, and NES Classic Mini. You might be wondering why I spent money on those consoles when it is possible to play their titles through emulators and the answer is very simple because offer an experience closer to the original hardwareboth for the design of the console and for the controls.
Now it’s your turn what console did you buy last time? Read in the comments.
