Microsoft released the April 2022 Update for Windows 11 on Tuesday as part of its monthly update cycle known as Patch Tuesday. In addition to security fixes, this update also includes bug fixes that were introduced in an optional update released at the end of March.
The update is optional and available through Windows Update.
In accordance with Microsoft support siteAn update labeled KB5012592 released today changes the OS build to 22000613 and includes security improvements in several areas of Windows 11. Since the list of bug fixes is almost the same as in the optional March update, it can be seen in full Here.
The list of bugs fixed includes one that caused the process SystemSettings.exe stop working unexpectedly, one that disables automatic launch of Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps after updating the operating system, one that affects the process searchindexer.exe and prevents offline searches in Microsoft Outlook from returning the latest emails in results, which prevents modern browsers from properly displaying the HTML generated by the command gresult/hwhich causes stop error 0xD1, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in the DirectX kernel, and one that increases Windows 11 boot time, which happens when the network API stops responding because a connected 5G device takes longer than expected to “wake up”.
OUR the list of known issues includes only one item highlighted by Microsoft: after installing Windows updates released after January 11, 2022, recovery discs (CDs or DVDs) created using the Backup and Restore applet (Windows 7) in the Classic Control Panel (image below) may not work properly. Rescue discs created with the applet on systems with updates released before January 11, 2022 are not affected by the problem and can be used normally.
