Weapons manufacturer MBDA, in collaboration with RBSL and Supacat, has introduced a version of its Boxer and Supacat HMT vehicles equipped with Brimstone missiles to hit enemy equipment and targets at long ranges.

“Family of ground-based high-precision shells” MBDA’s surface-launched Brimstone and Land Precision Strike (LPS) are multi-range precision weapons that operate with low side effects 24/7 in a wide variety of operational scenarios.

According to MBDA’s press release, they will help commanders win deep combat and shape close combat.

The Brimstone on Boxer concept was created by both RBSL and MBDA in response to the British Army’s need for Mounted Close Combat Overwatch (MCCO) capabilities as part of future anti-tank requirements known as Battle Group Organic Anti-Armor.

Quickly deploying for precision armor engagement over long distances, the Brimstone on Boxer mission module enables heavy battlegroups to repel enemy formations and single targets. At the heart of this concept is helical development with rapid provisioning of initial capabilities using existing equipment followed by wider battlefield integration.

The Brimstone concept on the HMT600 was created by both Supacat and MBDA to provide the Light Force tactical commander with a similar and complementary organic Overwatch capability to quickly deliver high-precision anti-tank effects at longer ranges and greater volume.
