The Shiyan-16A, Shiyan-16B and Shiyan-17 satellites were launched at 07:50 Beijing time from Taiyuan Cosmodrome in Shanxi Province in northern China.

The spacecraft was successfully launched into the given orbit.

Translated from Chinese, shiyan means “experiment”. This group of satellites will be used for geological surveys, urban planning and the prevention and elimination of natural disasters.

This flight was the 440th flight for the Changzheng series launch vehicles.

As Ukrinform reported, on Wednesday (September 21st), Chinese authorities successfully launched a satellite for environmental research.
