Intel just introduced the Raptor Lake-S, thirteenth generation Intel Core, a generation that represents the consolidation of hybrid architecture and paves the way for Meteor Lake, which promises to be revolutionary once again. As we have already told you, the Raptor Lake offers us performance and reliability, an offer that is not negligible. and this will surely convince many users, some of whom will have to adapt the rest of its components to the jump.

Specifically, changing the motherboard will be essential for all users, except those with Alder Lake PCs, so that both generations share a socket and, except for very specific cases, it will be possible to make a leap simply by removing one chip and inserting another. However, this way you won’t be able to take advantage of all the new features and benefits of Raptor Lake with respect to Alder Lake. In order for this to be possible and thus to make the most of its performance, it will be necessary to update several components, of course including the motherboard.

The major manufacturers are aware of this need and have been working with Intel for some time to prepare their new generation of motherboards, and GIGABYTE, which also just announced the Ryzen 7000 motherboards today, was among the first to announce the first models in the aorus family. equipped with Z790 chipset, the top of the line of three of this generation of Intel (Z790, H770 and B760). The boards, which, as the manufacturer reminds, have the peculiarity of being two-generation, because, as in the case of the Z690, H670 and B660 chipsets, they can be used with Raptor Lake and Alder Lake.

There are four, namely motherboard models GIGABYTE AORUS Z790: XTREME, MASTER and ELITE AX and TACHYON, plus Z790 AERO G. A total of five boards that act as an advancement in the design, undoubtedly much wider, with which GIGABYTE will respond to the launch of the thirteenth generation.

The top of the line is the GIGABYTE AORUS Z790 XTREME, with a digital output of a maximum of 20 phasesdirect contact 8mm Mega-Heatpipes and full coverage VRM coolers – a feature set that lets you take advantage of new and improved overclocking features, CPU and memory, coming from the next generation of Intel and supplemented with several exclusive GIGABYTE overclocking functions that users can find in the BIOS. So when it comes to memory, GIGABYTE is talking about up to DDR5-7600 using XMP and EXPO profiles.

GIGABYTE AORUS Z790 motherboards are of course fully compatible with the new technologies and improvements brought by Raptor Lake-S. From use PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD with bandwidth up to 10 GB/sof course, DDR5 and PCIe 5, in the full range of energy-efficient functions, are added to GIGABYTE’s own technologies.
