British company Vertical Aerospace has announced the first flight of its VX4 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air taxi prototype.

As reported by Ukrinform, New Atlas reported this.

The VX4 aerotaxi is a five-seater design with a pilot and four passengers at the front. In total, the flying machine has eight large propellers.

Vertical Aerospace claims that the electric aerotaxi can reach an impressive top speed of 325 km per hour and a range of more than 161 km.

It is noted that the VX4 rose to a height of 1.5 meters during its first flight, but the company also wants to test at altitudes of up to 50 meters and eventually reach an altitude of between 1,500 and 3,000 meters.

The company plans to start offering commercial services as early as 2025. It is already known that about 1,400 pre-orders have been placed for the flying machine.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Chinese company Autoflight demonstrated the autonomous flight of the Prosperity I aerotaxi with vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).
