If you’re looking for a designer desktop, great performance and highly customizable, pay attention to the new Alienware Aurora R15, just introduced by Dell’s gaming division. It won’t be the last desktop we see in the coming weeks, as recent introductions of new processor platforms from AMD and Intel, along with new dedicated graphics from NVIDIA, will refresh a lot of PCs.

The Alienware Aurora R15 follows the outer design line of the series and we don’t see any relevant changes. Employ a white chassis and visible RGB lights on the front panel and on the side. This panel can be transparent or opaque and its dimensions are 589 mm in length, 225 mm in width and 510 mm in height. Its average weight will be 15.5 kg depending on the components. Its appearance is very attractive and – if you have the space – it can be placed on the same table for easy display.

Inside we see changes such as a 240mm heat exchanger “double the size of the previous generation” Y “various hexagonal side vents” help with airflow. Both are aimed at improve thermal performance and keep temperatures under control, something designer OEM desktops like this don’t always achieve.

Alienware Aurora R15, latest and super customizable

Alienware offers a lots of hardware to choose from customization of equipment and customization of each user’s budget. There are six CPU options, all from Intel’s new Raptor Lake-S series, from the Core i5-13600K to the top Core i9-13900KF.

For the graphics part, we see even more options, up to 15, including nine GPUs from the GeForce RTX 3000 series, the new RTX 4090 and five cards from the Radeon RX 6000 series. You can also choose the capacity of the installed memory, from 8 to 64 GB of RAM, various storage capacities with multiple SSD slots (ready for the next generation PCIe 5.o) and eight power options.

The motherboard is the same for all versions, we assume a high-end model with a Z790 chipset. It will feature plenty of USB Type-A and Type-C ports, dual gigabit Ethernet, audio input and output (both digital and analog) and a combo headphone port. Wi-Fi 6 will be in all models and Wi-Fi 6E in the highest configurations.

Dell hasn’t announced the price of the new Alienware Aurora R15, a good example of the latest generation OEM desktop. It will be available sometime this fall, and we don’t expect similar models from all PC manufacturers.
