Oliver Vargei, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, agrees that Ukraine’s accession to the roaming space of the European Union is possible at the nearest Ukraine-EU summit.

The Ukrinform correspondent stated this at a joint briefing in Kiev with Deputy Prime Minister for Europe and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna.

“Of course the easiest solution is roaming and this ACAA deals for industrial products. Then we can move very quickly.”

The Commissioner added that there are no obstacles to Ukraine’s participation in roaming and that work on this issue continues.

“It takes time because we need an agreement with European service providers and Ukrainian service providers. I hope that when we meet at the next summit in Brussels, this will be on the table and we can accept it. This is our common goal,” stressed Vargei.

As Ukrinform reported, the previous Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal highlighted the importance of creating a common free roaming network, a free payment space between Ukraine and the EU. This will mean that Ukrainians will not pay for roaming in European Union countries, and EU citizens will not pay for roaming in Ukraine.
