Things seem to be starting to show up. Alder Lake-N, a line of low-power Intel processors aimed at entry-level lines. Specific models that have been known include Core i3-N305 and Core i3-N300which do not exactly stand out in their power due to the technology they use.
As we said a long time ago, Alder Lake-N processors will not use high-performance cores (Golden Cove in Alder Lake), but only low-power ones (Gracemont, used in Alder Lake and Raptor Lake). In the case of the two models that concern us in this entry, both include eight Gracemont cores, each supporting one thread. This scheme is repeated on more powerful processors, where SMT/Hyper-Threading support is only available on high-performance cores.
Two models of Alder Lake-N processors are known due to the fact that they were incorporated into two as-yet unspecified notebook models. The Core i3-N305 notebook came with 16GB of 3200MHz RAM and ran Windows 11 Pro, while the Core i3-N300 was paired with another notebook with 8G of 3200MHz RAM along with the same operating system.

In addition to knowing that they were built into the laptops, there is a performance test for each processor, but it does not serve as a comparison, since the Core i3-N305 was put to work in high performance mode and the Core i3-N300 in battery saving mode. The first processor scored 887 points compared to the second’s 686, so it can be assumed that the difference should not be large. Both models use the Intel UHD Graphics graphics accelerator.
Intel has yet to officially announce Alder Lake-N, though given how long it’s taking to release, we’ll likely know more in the coming weeks. On the other hand, we remember it the company decided to discontinue the Pentium and Celeron and replace them with the Intel processor in a move aimed at simplifying the catalog and avoiding two lines targeting similar segments.
Go figure the Alder Lake-Ns won’t be heavy duty oriented, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their utility in basic and office contexts, especially considering the hardware has been overpowered for years, although that’s where the software comes into play , which is not always as optimized as it should be.
