Prof. Dr. The project “AI for Girls”, the thesis of PhD student Meltem Özmutlu and conducted under the supervision of Şirin Karadeniz, was introduced with the program held on September 19 in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), which we often hear in the fields of computers and computer science; It occurs in many different fields, from tourism to law, from computer science to art. Education, which has become more personal and comfortable thanks to numerous applications of artificial intelligence, is one of the areas transformed by artificial intelligence. In this context, the project “AI for Girls”, created by academics from Bahçeşehir University (BAU), was presented in the modern IT park in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, between September 19-20-21.

Created with the aim of increasing the number of women in the technology sector and supporting social development by empowering women to discover their own potential and equal opportunities in the world of science and technology, the project provided the opportunity to knowledge in the field of information technologies and artificial intelligence and their applications in everyday life with the participation of students and teachers.

It can also be given in STEM centers

Pekos Oleg Andreevich, Deputy Minister of Development for Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Karimjonov Rustam Olimzhonovich, General Director of the Center for Innovation, Technology and Strategy, Khaidarov Abduvali Abdunabievich, Uzbekistan Republic of Turkey, participated in the program in Tashkent , the capital of Uzbekistan Ambassador Olkan Bekar and BAU Rector Prof. Dr. Many academics, students and business people, especially Şirin Karadeniz, were present.

Bahcesehir University Rector, who went to the Central Asian country of Uzbekistan, which is thousands of kilometers away, with the artificial intelligence-based project “AI for Girls”. Claiming to bring the artificial intelligence curriculum they developed as a thesis study in Bahçeşehir University’s educational technology doctoral program to the international arena, Prof. Dr. Nice Black Sea; “With our Uzbekistan Education and Technology Ministries, we have implemented this program for girls aged 14-18. The goal of this project, called AI for girls; is to support our girls to get education by choosing the technology field as a career and to achieve successes that can be a role model in the future. By involving teachers in the project, we also enabled this innovative curriculum to become widespread. In that sense, our project actually has a social responsibility. We believe that this program will make an important contribution to relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan and that joint projects will continue. It was a good teamwork, we would like to thank those who contributed.”

“Very useful for understanding large-scale data”

Khaidarov Abduvali Abdunabievich, General Director of the Innovation, Technology and Strategy Center, noting the importance of the students trained in the program to have knowledge at the level of artificial intelligence: “As a result of this knowledge and training, they will the future can benefit from their own life and career. Similar projects can be carried out not only in the education sector, but perhaps even in other sectors. We wish our girls every success and we would be very happy if they participate in similar projects in the future .”

Pekos Oleg Andreevich, Deputy Minister of Development for Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, started his speech by stating that artificial intelligence is a fundamental technology that works in understanding large-scale data; “In the training of a large-scale bank with my colleagues, we collected data using artificial intelligence and used the method of risk analysis to give credit. When there is a lot of data, such as when the person was born in your hand, how many children he has, how much his costs are, the risk analysis method makes it possible to minimize the costs. With this method, some customers are given 5 million Sum credits, and thus the person does not waste time when he comes to the bank. The second example is the university admissions system. Every day 2-3 thousand students log into this system, but no security guard can literally view and remember the identity of passers-by. This program will be very beneficial for students. I wish all students good luck,” he concluded.
