The American magazine Popular Mechanics published an article evaluating the Russian T-72 and T-80 tanks.
In it, journalists called these combat vehicles “two of the five worst tanks in the world.” For example, experts believe that the T-72 lacks modern ammunition, third-generation night vision sights and armor. The main problem of the tank was called the storage of ammunition in the same space where the crew was located.
Among the disadvantages of the T-80 in Popular Mechanics, an unreliable and long-lasting gas turbine engine was noted. According to them, it requires a lot of fuel and as a result creates some logistical problems in supply.
According to Popular Mechanics, the North Korean T-34/85, India’s Arjun and Iran’s Tiam hit the top three on the “worst” list.
