Competition between etc and Intel have become exciting in recent years, and this forces both companies to do their best. Therefore, after the launch of the first models on the market Ryzen 7000the giant behind Radeon would already be preparing variants some processors of this generation with 3D V-Cachewhich would be a compound level 3 cache.

AMD’s roadmap has reportedly been leaked, showing the company’s plans for next-gen APUs, Threadripper and Ryzen 7000 variants with 3D V-Cache. Of all these possible models, the latest ones stood out, which could be seen in early 2023 to compete with Intel’s most powerful processors.

As you can see in the leaked image, AMD could update its processor families to create Ryzen Threadripper 7000 and Ryzen 7000G (names not confirmed). The next generations of the mentioned families would be ready for the second half of 2023, which indicates that we will have to wait about a year for the arrival of the next generation of Ryzen APU and Threadripper families.

Since the APU and Threadripper families are due to be refreshed in many months, we will focus on the X3D or 3D V-Cache models. He would be among the members of this family Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which would be able to work at frequencies exceeding 5 GHz. That would be an improvement of at least 500MHz compared to the 4.5GHz achieved by the 5800X3D.

On the other hand, it is important to note that the 3D V-Cache family, at least in its generation based on Zen 3 (Ryzen 5000), is not ideal for conventional overclocking, since the way the level 3 cache is implemented allows for dissipation not as good as for standard models.

Zen 4 and TSMC’s 5nm manufacturing process seems to present another challenge when it comes to keeping the V-Cache processor at optimal temperatures. On the other hand, it is known that the Zen 4D chips will have a more mature implementation of V-Cache technology and that at least the following CPU models would see the light: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and 7950X3D.

As we already said, X3D or 3D V-Cache processors based on Ryzen 7000 could be seen at the beginning of the year, which points to CES 2023, which will be held in Las Vegas, USA.
