It seems like only yesterday that we tackled September’s release roundup, but it’s been a month already. We’ve already entered the fall we were expecting at the time in some regions, and for now we’ve had to put our winter pajamas back on, and suddenly the warmth that the PC emits every time we push its performance to the limit is comforting again. another nuisance that adds to the heat in which we were generally sweltering just a few weeks ago.
If in the summer, gaming is a good way to distract yourself, have fun and try to forget the heat a little, autumn is the perfect time to play, because it avoids nostalgia, bittersweet memories of holidays, the inevitable analogies of the transition of time (seasons) and time ( our, vital)… immersing ourselves in any playful offering for a few hours helps us degrease autumn with nostalgia, ocher tones and other essentials.
So, once there’s an excuse for those who need it, we’re taking a look at the most exciting game releases to come this month of October, which starts tomorrow. Of course, as you will be able to check, some of the most anticipated titles of the month will only see the light of day in the last days of the month.
It seems unbelievable, but almost three years have passed since we first heard about Overwatch 2, the revival of one of the most successful multiplayer shooters of recent times. Although it was originally expected to see the light of day as a totally separate experience from its predecessor, it was confirmed shortly after that the two will in fact be combined, providing an updated and improved gaming experience for the entire community.
Does it make sense to release a new farming “simulator” at this point (I put it in quotes because I don’t mean a realistic replica like the sensational Farming Simulator, but titles like Stardew Valley, My time at Portia, Harvest Moon, etc.) or we’re in for an overloaded genre? In my somewhat (nevertheless) unbiased opinion, YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU! With a very attractive art design on an island surrounded by coral reefs, you will have to manage your farm, contribute to the local community and, I don’t know about you, I have already added it to wishlist on Steam.
Something strange happened to me, when I tried to access this game’s file on Steam, the store asked me to verify that I was of legal age. Something that makes me think wrong in a title with Tiger Woods…but no, false alarm. PGA Tour 2K23 is the annual renewal of the most popular golf game that immerses you in the exciting world of competitive golf like no other.
LEGO video games, like movies, have been able to define their own style, very distinctive, in which action and a sense of humor are masterfully blended. In this new title of the most popular building block game in history (and be careful, says someone who was a TENTE child), we will face puzzles and adventures all over the world.
As expected from a game based on the Dragon Ball ecosystem, we find ourselves in front of a relaxing and peaceful fishing simulator where you can relax for hours while… nothing, it wasn’t exciting, was it? Obviously, we are talking about a multiplayer title (seven against one) that wastes action on all four sides. You’ll have to band together to face classic rivals from the saga, while trying to work as a team… or act only for your benefit.
Do you like fear? In the absence of certified letters from the tax agency, which are definitive experience in this sense, Scorn is undoubtedly the most interesting proposal of this month of October and one of the most remarkable of the whole year. Defined by its creators as “a dark universe full of strange shapes and dark complexity”, we find ourselves in front of a title that fits into the always disturbing world of biopunk, in which we will first have to try to understand what we see, and then we will have our whole life ahead of us to they tried to forget it.
To my taste, it is undoubtedly one of the two most remarkable releases of the month and one of the most anticipated, even more so since we could see a preview video published in mid-August. As in its predecessors, we face an emotional challenge, we face a very careful and polished argument that will once again lead us to face the cost of our decisions, even if they are taken to protect our own.
One of the most interesting releases this year in terms of the indie ecosystem, Batora: Lost Haven is an RPG in which the development of our character (and of course the story) will depend on our decisions. In an interplanetary adventure and one of the worst moments of her life, Avril will have to use her superpowers to save her own world… whatever that means.
The unexpected and celebrated sequel to Kingdom Battle, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope puts us back in control of Mario and his company, along with a group of Rabbids, on a predictable mission to save the Mushroom Kingdom from another powerful and evil creature, the RPG. this time the Dark Goddess took over. The tactical assaults on the battlefield and the puzzles to progress in combat offer an adventure that, if you enjoyed its predecessor, you will undoubtedly enjoy.
Although talking about Gotham City without Batman may sound like a garden without flowers or a field trip without an omelette sandwich, the truth is that this Gotham Knights, which immerses us in the always dark and sinful streets of Gotham, but now with an epidemic of crime after the death of Batman, puts us in control of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, who will have to try to make up for the Dark Knight’s absence and try to restore order and hope to Gotham, which looks darker, sinister and never lost.
Few games have been able to evoke so much empathy with the characters, so… well, I’ll let you insert the adjective. With good intentions and little else, Anu, Octavio and Fran will have to face a planetary invasion, a ruthless vault monster and a cold-blooded capitalist who should begin to repay his debt to society. With the intention of saving the world, or at least making it a little better, begins an adventure not suitable for all viewers, which will undoubtedly make you laugh more than once.
Perhaps the most interesting JRPG of the year, a member of an already long saga that dates back to the 90s (yes, it’s that old-school). In this new installment, you will have to take a giant sword and face Raymond Lawrence, a warrior who fights against the Pangalactic Federation. With a princess by your side and a lot of deadly weapons, you will write your story in a strange sci-fi world and try to bring justice to the galaxy.
Bayonet, or as my friend says, one of the main reasons to be a Nintendo user, is finally releasing its long-awaited (it was announced back in 2017) third installment. The first opinions that have been published about it, from journalists who have already been able to try it, indicate that it retains the essence of the previous titles, but the efforts of the developers to offer an improved experience are appreciated.
To say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most anticipated titles of the month is certainly an understatement. We already know practically everything about this title, and both because of the developers behind it, its context and all the news that will come from it, we are facing what could be one of the most relevant deliveries ever. history of this long-standing and always successful saga.
The long-awaited online multiplayer based on one of the most successful survival horror sagas in history has finally arrived. Deathmatch against six other players, many chemical weapons (we are in the realm of Umbrella Corporation, what did you expect?), with the most iconic and famous characters in the world of Resident Evil.
