Huawei hosted the European Informatics Energy Efficiency Summit 2022, held in Istanbul between September 29 and 30. The event, attended by about 300 guests from different countries, discussed ways to reduce energy consumption in the telecom sector.
Experts from Huawei’s operator customers and business partners attended the summit in Istanbul. During the event, hosted by actress and translator Ece Dizdar, with the theme “illuminating the green future”, Huawei shared its energy trends in computing with the participants.
The organisation, supported by GeSI and CDP, two international organizations active in the field of sustainability in the IT sector, started with the opening speeches. State Secretary for Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Omer Fatih Sayan, in his speech; “I would like to thank Huawei for organizing this important summit, which has enabled us to discuss digital preservation and energy efficiency. I wish about 300 guests from 27 countries a successful event and welcome you all to Istanbul, Turkey.” Noting that information technologies affect every aspect of the lives of approximately 5 billion people in the world, said Dr. Sayan emphasized that every stakeholder in the IT sector should focus on sustainable solutions. Dr Sayan; “There are two goals to ensure energy efficiency in the IT field. The first is to reduce energy consumption and get it from renewable sources. The second is to minimize energy consumption in all areas of computing with smart solutions. Let us as all stakeholders in the industry achieve these goals and leave a greener world to future generations.”

While we offer products that allow businesses and homes to take advantage of solar energy, we also develop solutions that minimize the energy consumption of our products. As a corporate citizen of Turkey, we will continue to do our best for green transformation.”
In the second part of the meeting, mobile operator managers and representatives of business partners shared successful examples of increasing energy efficiency in computing with the participants, and then toured the hall where Huawei developed products were introduced and received information in this area. from the company’s experts. On the second day of the summit, participants took part in the eco-friendly base station tour of Istanbul.
