Flettner rotors were developed more than 100 years ago and use rotating standpipes to convert wind energy into highly efficient shear. Although currently mostly used on service vessels, more and more companies are starting to add Flettner rotors to significantly improve the fuel efficiency of large commercial vessels.

FY.01 is powered by electricity generated by solar panels located on the yacht’s surface. However, Flettner rotors remain the primary power source. Depending on wind conditions, the force produced by these systems is greater than that of a sail of the same size.

The use of this technology results in a significant reduction in energy consumption and up to 40% reduction in CO2 emissions. The yacht has a backup power generation system in the form of high-efficiency batteries that can provide the necessary energy for the ship for longer periods of time when other systems fail.

In addition to this advanced power system, the yacht has some amenities. Between the buildings is an infinity pool with relaxation area and a saltwater wading pool.

In the middle of the yacht are the living room, the owner’s area, the indoor dining area, a small indoor park and a wheelhouse.

The two hulls of the ship contain permanent propulsion machinery, onboard batteries and fuel cells, as well as spacious cabins for the crew and guests.
