Of all browser extensions, ad blockers will be hit the hardest by this update. It is worth noting that the developers of such extensions are actively working on new versions of their programs to adapt over time. The first results are already available.

Google has released a more detailed timeline for the transition from Manifest V2 to V3. Previously, the transition was supposed to be fully completed in 2023.

• The transition will begin in January 2023, as previously planned. Chrome will experiment with disabling support for Manifest V2 extensions in the Canary, Development and Beta channels (experimental versions of the browser for testers). Using Manifest V3 will become a requirement for the Featured badge
• In June, experiments will be expanded to stable versions of the browser. The Chrome Web Store will no longer allow new extensions to be uploaded and published to Manifest V2 with public visibility. However, apparently, the previously installed ones will continue to work. All extensions in V2 whose visibility is currently set to “On” will be changed to “Unlisted”.
• As it is now known, Google is extending Manifest V2 support for developers until January 2024. All remaining Manifest V2 extensions will then be removed from the store.

So it’s probably safe to say that ad blockers will be “released” by early 2024, not June 2023.
