As it is known from the statement of the company representative, Google itself has closed the access to the translator for the PRC. He also explained the reasons for such a decision.

We stopped Google Translate in Mainland China due to low usage rates,

Journalists say that Translate is used not only by Google, but also by other large American companies – Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, numerous news sites, etc. It states that it is one of the few services blocked in China.

• As a reminder, Google search has not been working in China since 2010 due to strict censorship.
• The company was looking for ways to stay on the market by launching Translator through a dedicated website and mobile app in 2017.
• The company was also developing a separate search service for the Chinese market, but later abandoned those plans.
