As has been known for a long time, the time has come to leapfrog the development version of the Linux kernel and Linux 6.0 is the new versiona release that Linus Torvalds announced as always without giving too much hype to the most obvious, because as its creator himself acknowledges, nothing relevant changes.
“As I hope you can all understand, this version number change is more about me running out of fingers and toes than any major major changes,” Torvalds explains, adding “of course, there are many different changes in Linux 6.0: we’ve crossed 15k binds […] and as such it is one of the largest editions, at least in terms of numbers binds for time”.
