Apple updated this Monday (3) the list of manufacturer products that are considered obsolete and obsolete.. Among them is the iPhone 6, a device that first hit the market in September 2014, just over eight years ago.

This is because it was introduced as a low-cost option by Apple after the launch of the iPhone 6s. However, despite being discontinued in 2016 after the introduction of the iPhone 7, it was resold in some countries as a low-cost option until September 2018.

This is one of the reasons why the iPhone 6 Plus, the more expensive version of the device, was added to the list of old and obsolete devices earlier this year. Since sales did not return, as with the base version, it ended in the required time before the release of the iPhone 6.

Released eight years ago, the device is considered one of Apple’s most revolutionary devices. At the time, he was the first to offer support for Apple Pay. The functionality is still available today on iOS devices such as iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac and iPad. It was also the first time the company had provided multiple device size versions.

Despite being so important to the industry at the time, Apple began counting the iPhone 6 on its list of obsolete devices. The list includes devices that have not been delivered for more than five years. The company is committed to providing services and parts for older phones for seven years after launch, but these are subject to parts availability.

Unfortunately for those who still had these devices, from now on the iPhone 6 will no longer receive assistance from Apple. All hardware is discontinued when a product is listed, with the exception of Mac laptops, which continue to be classified as repairable for batteries only.
