The trailer for the Dead Space remake is touching and nostalgic

The a dead universe remake is one of the most anticipated titles of 2023 and not only that, but given the great popularity that survival horror is currently enjoying, it became a great opportunity for the saga to really have the impact it deserves, having sold millions of copies in the past, the results did not leave Electronic Arts satisfied, which ended with the closure of Visceral Games (the failure of Dante’s Inferno must be added here).

Since Visceral Games does not exist, the remake is being developed by EA Motive Studios, whose work is very promising, as a trailer was recently published on the official Electronic Arts YouTube channel. You can see a lot of things in the video that will surely bring back memories for those who played the original title (including this server), which is even more evident considering that the technological development has not gone that far since 2008.

Obviously, here we’ll be controlling Isaac Clarke from the USG Ishimura again to do a reconnaissance and repair mission, in addition to knowing how his girlfriend is doing. However, the crew of the ship sent to the USG Ishimura Kellion is again in for a rather unpleasant surprise.

You can see an important change in the trailer, and this is it this time Isaac Clarke will speak. This detail is already causing some debate, since he did not speak to anyone in the first part of the saga. On the one hand, this can help add more depth to the character, but on the other hand, it can spoil something of the essence of the original game.

It is without a doubt EA Motive Studios has a very difficult task ahead of it. The original game has aged remarkably wellSo much so that with a texture pack and some graphical additions it would be fully updated, as it remained untouched on the game level and what’s more, perhaps its interface based on holograms placed on the protagonist’s suit instead of using the classic HUD is praised more today than it was in 2008. On the other hand, after a long time it is still a balanced and well-made combination of survival horror and action.

In addition to the huge graphical jump, some locations are expected to be at least partially remade from the remake, and from what was seen in previous videos, it seems that the survival part will be somewhat strengthened compared to the direct action, which is surprising for ElectronicArts.

Will the Dead Space remake live up to the original title and have enough incentive for those of us who enjoyed the 2008 title? If there are no delays, we should begin to have answers to these questions shortly after early 2023.
