The Facebook News Feed is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you’ll find. You have posts from your friends as well as posts in groups, ads and some occasional spam messages. Target now announced Two innovations to better control what we see on Facebook.
To get started, the app will start asking us if we want to see more or less of a certain post type. You can also individually choose how interested you are in posts from friends and family, groups and pages in the news settings.
I like this, I don’t like that
Meta has announced two new features that will help separate the wheat from the chaff on our Facebook and tame the home algorithm a bit. In essence, both innovations are based on telling Facebook: we want to see more or less of a certain type of content.
Currently Facebook only lets us do this with ads, but soon we’ll be able to tell the app what we want. see more or see less any publication. We can use the ⋮ menu to do this, but the app itself will also remind us with buttons below certain posts.
The operation is quite intuitive. If we tell a friend’s post that we want to see more of these types of posts, the algorithm will prioritize similar posts. If we tell him we want to see less, he will do the opposite: we will see fewer broadcasts of the style.
This is not the only innovation involved. In addition, we will have the option in the settings of the Facebook news section. set priority of main post types: from friends and family, groups and pages.
From this section, which is hidden in Facebook settings, we can choose each post type separately if we want it to be up to date. regular priorityshow more or show less.
As with almost all similar Facebook news, these changes will be implemented gradually therefore, it may take weeks or months before you have these new controls.
