The increase in the use of e-signatures continues

According to the second quarter 2022 data released by the Information Technology and Communications Authority (BTK), the number of electronic signatures is approaching 6 million. The number of mobile signatures exceeded 813 thousand. A total of 6.7 million electronic certificates were created.

BTK has published its Market Data Report for the second quarter of 2022. The number of electronic signatures produced rose to 5 million 935 thousand 959. The number of mobile signatures has exceeded 813,000. In total, 6 million 748 thousand 965 electronic certificates were created. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the number of e-signature certificates increased by 3.4 percent and the number of mobile signature certificates by 2.5 percent. The total number of certificates issued increased by 3.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.

The choice of both businesses and citizens e-signature

The areas of use of e-signatures are increasing day by day. Electronic signature, which is defined in Electronic Signature Act No. 5070 and has the same legal validity as wet signature, makes life easier for companies and individuals. E-GUVEN General Manager İlker Türkoğlu pointed out that individuals and companies prefer to e-sign the transactions they used to do with wet signatures in a digital environment, and provided the following information: It saves 75% cost. It enables businesses and individuals to reset their paper usage by fully digitizing their signature processes. Carrying out the signing and approval processes in an electronic environment, especially human resources; It offers cost advantage in things like time, freight, paper and stationery.
