Archytas (Αρχυτασ) self-developed reconnaissance aircraft presented in Greece, the UAV was created by the Hellenic Aerospace Industry company with the participation of the three largest Greek universities.

The UAV model is named after the ancient Greek scientist, statesman and general Tarentus Archytus. It is a multipurpose vertical take-off and landing aircraft designed for military operations and rescue missions, including the surveillance of numerous Greek islands.

The heads of the manufacturing company reported that the Greek armed forces and the country’s defense enterprises are already interested in the drone, and the release of the pre-production model is planned for 2023.

Archytas drone’s design capabilities include providing situational awareness along Greece’s maritime and land borders, tracking land transport movements, accompanying frigates, and surveillance of naval UAVs.
