It turns out that a significant part of modern computers has stopped updating to Windows 11. This is reported by the OnMSFT publication.
Journalists referred to the report of the company Lansweeper, which evaluated the level of acceptance of the new operating system from Microsoft on computers around the world. According to experts, about 43 percent of computers in the world cannot be upgraded to a new version of Windows due to various issues. Experts analyzed about 60 million user computers, about 30 million of which do not have an up-to-date operating system.
The report’s authors noted that out of 60 million computers tested, 93 percent of the machines met Windows 11’s minimum requirements for RAM. About 58 percent of computers have a corresponding processor, 65 percent of accessories have a TPM encryption module.
Only 2.61 percent of users’ computers are running Windows 11, Lansweeper said in a statement. In early 2022 and mid-summer, this figure was 0.52 percent and 1.44 percent, respectively. According to experts, PC users simply refuse to upgrade due to non-compliance with system requirements – many prefer to stay with the old computer and operating system because of financial problems.
