HTC is apparently preparing to launch a new virtual reality headset from the popular Vive series. The company plans to release a new virtual reality headset by the end of this year.

Earlier, the company announced two new products, Vive Flow and Vive Wrist Tracker. Both were announced in October 2021 and January 2021, respectively. Now, the brand’s official representative has posted a new teaser on Twitter, showing off the new VR headset with a compact form factor. Judging by the tweet, the company shared the headline “Go small or go home” with a silhouette of its upcoming VR headset.

Also, HTC said in the answers section, “We’re working on something big…we mean small. This is a new headset!” Interestingly, the company also sent out a press release. Technology RadarThis was somewhat similar to the announcement of the HTC Vive Flow, which became the “first evolution” of the Proton project. In other words, the upcoming VR headset could be the “second” evolution or next generation of the same project.

At the moment, more details and even the name of this product are still unknown. For those who don’t know, the Vive Flow is a pair of virtual reality glasses launched in an innovative form factor but with a hefty price tag of $499. Despite its unique design, the company’s Vive Flow has been criticized for performance and limited immersion. Therefore, we can expect the new model to bring improvements to this formula.
