OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro will receive Android 12 stable update

In July, OnePlus announced an open beta testing initiative for OxygenOS 12 for the 7 and 7T series. Now, after months of beta testing, the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro are getting the stable build of OxyegnOS 12 based on Android 12. The update brings various improvements as well as new features to the phones. Details are here.

According to the official community post, the update is labeled H.28 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro and F.16 for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. Along with everything Android 12 has to offer, OxygenOS 12 will give these OnePlus devices a whole new look. It comes with the August 2022 security patch, which is already two months old.

The OxygenOS update brings many new changes such as three-level dark mode, new style options for shelf cards, Smart Battery Engine algorithm, new app icons and more. You can find a detailed changelog below:

    • Work Life Balance is now available to all users, making it easy to switch between Work and Life modes with quick settings
    • WLB 2.0 now supports automatic switching between Work and Life modes based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network and time, and provides personalized app notification profiles based on customization

    • The gallery now makes the gallery layout more enjoyable by allowing you to switch between different layouts with a two-finger pinch, intelligently recognize the best quality image, and crop the thumbnail according to the content
  • Canvas AOD
    • Canvas AOD introduces a variety of new line styles and colors for a more personalized lock screen experience with an inspiring visual effect
    • Color adjustment support, along with a few brushes and strokes added recently
    • Optimized software algorithm for better identification of features and skin color of different shapes and improved facial recognition
  • Accessibility
    • Optimized the categorization of features by grouping vision, hearing, interactive actions and general
    • Supports more system apps including TalkBack, Photos, Phone, Mail and Calendar

Despite being the first stable build, the release is currently limited to open beta participants only. Several users reported that the software could do a little tweaking before being used on a daily basis.
