UEZ 2022, “Digital Transformation: How Will Businesses and Industries Change?” ended with the session. The session discussed the impact of digital transformation and the next journey across sectors from finance to real estate, from agriculture to construction, from education to health.

The session moderated by Koç Sistem General Manager Mehmet Ali Akarca was attended by Z Tractor Founder and CEO Bakur Kvezereli, Zip Turkey General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board Burak Elgin, Meta Turkey Country Director Ilke Toptaş and Ege Yapı Chairman of the board of directors İnanç Kabadayı .

Bakur Kvezereli: “Tractors replaced horses; robots will replace tractors”

Z Tractor Founder and CEO Bakur Kvezereli: “We started making unmanned electric tractors in 2017 and we decided to try different technologies on them because they looked and worked like autonomous machines. It was never easy for the tractor not only to move, but also to do the job and perform the necessary actions. So much has changed from today’s perspective that energy prices around the world, autonomous vehicles have become the norm. The next machines are the self-propelled and electric tractors on the farm, but of course that takes some time. For economic reasons, horses will be replaced by tractors and tractors by robots. They become smarter, more sustainable and more productive. Because if there is no battery charging time, our tractors can continue working 24/7.”

Burak Elgin: “Digitalization is never a solution”

Burak Elgin, General Manager of Zip Turkey and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors: “Zip is a company founded in 2013. But we are a first in the financial world. We have an active presence in 14 countries. We took Zip to Turkey. There is a degree of credit penetration in our country and we try to offer our customers different options instead of creating additional credit. BRSA has been incredibly supportive. It is difficult to get a company out of the country and back on its feet, but thanks to the support, we found a solution very quickly. Our technology differs in allocation modules. Since we are active in 14 countries, we have a module that determines where else we can trade with incoming data. Digitization is never a result. “When you achieve one thing, you have to do another.”

İlke Toptaş: “We want to switch 1 billion people to Metaverse technology in 10 years”

Meta Turkey Country Director İlke Toptaş: “Our goal is to switch 1 billion people to Metaverse technology in 10 years. In the future, when you wear your virtual reality goggles, you can experience Instagram in 3D and shops in 3D. In the future you will be able to drive virtually via Whatsapp. In addition, thanks to Metaverse, we will have the opportunity to take virtual reality classes from the world’s foremost professors in the near future. Also, today we are in the hybrid shopping era. There used to be the era of the shops, we always said ‘we’re going shopping’. Now we can shop anytime, anywhere. 70 percent of people make decisions and buy at that time during periods such as Black Friday. It is necessary to find mechanisms that make people discover this. Augmented reality is important here,” he said.

İnanç Kabadayı: “Construction 4.0 concept has begun to be discussed in our industry”

Ege Yapı Chairman of the Board of Directors İnanç Kabadayı: “Digitalization exists in every aspect of our lives. Important steps are being taken in this regard in the real estate and construction sector. In the near future, 4.6 billion people in the world will be urban. As an industry, we have been able to adapt quickly in planning and design, production, sales, marketing and ultimately sales, marketing and operation. A definition called Construction 4.0 has emerged. We now use augmented reality, remote communication, virtual reality and similar technologies. Ultimately, there are two important topics: CO2 emissions and combating climate change. This also has serious consequences for our industry. We have intensively introduced technology into our lives in sales, marketing and other aspects. We are also trying to introduce it in terms of production. We invest seriously in that. We have two areas: real estate and fintech. We are seriously looking for what added value can be added economically to our company. However, we mainly use technology in sales and marketing.
