One of the main innovations in this new test version of the operating system is the introduction third party widget support.

Windows 11 build 25217 – support for third-party widgets and other new features

Windows 11 build 25217 finally brings support for third-party widgets, according to Microsoft’s announcement. Developers interested in creating new widgets for the operating system will need to use WinAppSDK 1.2 Preview 2which is available by this link. The documentation needed to create widgets is available on the pages Widget Design Documents as well as Developer Documentation Widget. In the future, Microsoft will also support PWA Widgets (Progressive Web App) with the new version of Microsoft Edge.

In Windows 11 build 25217, Microsoft released an update to the Microsoft Store app (version 22209), which will be more clearly highlighted next to the current price if the game is available on the service PC Game Pass and display some of the main benefits of the service, as shown in the image below:

For users using Microsoft Teams chat app, the operating system introduces new possibilities for video calling. When the user opens the chat application on the taskbar, a video thumbnail and various ways to connect with other people are displayed.

In addition to the news mentioned above, Windows 11 build 25217 also brings various bug fixes. The list of bugs fixed includes one that caused the operating system to display incorrect page speeds. Advanced network settings in the application settingswhich makes the feature Remote Desktop on a PC based architecture ARM64 just use protocol TCP instead of UDP and one that causes windows to not display correctly when the user switches between them.
