All Brazilian capitals have been freed up to receive signals enabling 5G technology on mobile phones.. The opportunity came after the National Technology Agency (Anatel) released providers who purchased the 3.5GHz 5G band to activate the signal for the northern states.

Thus, the stations in Belen (PA), Macapa (AP), Manaus (AM), Porto Velho (RO) and Rio Branco (AC) received the green light to allow the necessary signal. Last Tuesday (4) the 3625 to 3700 MHz Interference Troubleshooting Monitoring Group (Gaispi) already published the signal distribution.

Thanks to this solution, all residents who have devices capable of connecting to the 5G network will now be able to use it on mobile phones or other devices. However, the mobile network will be more intensive, mainly in the centers of the capitals of the northern states of Brazil. 5G SA (Standalone) is also called “clean” by experts.

This new connection technology provides users with a number of benefits. In addition to improving download speeds, it also aims to provide greater stability, lower latency, increase connection density, and improve the use of IoT devices.

However, it is important to remember that not all devices available in Brazil currently have access to this type of technology. The figures provided by Anatel show that there are currently about 89 models in the country that support 5G connectivity.

Gaispi expects that by November 28, operators such as Claro, Tim and Vivo will be able to add at least 57 5G technology network stations in Belém, 18 in Macapé, 84 in Manaus, 21 in Porto Velho and 15 in Rio White. This would significantly increase the range and quality of the line in the northern region of the country.

Over 5 thousand 5G stations

Slowly arriving in all parts of the country, more than five thousand 5G stations have already been activated in all Brazilian capitals. While this may seem like a large number to some, it represents just over 5% of the more than 90,000 stations scattered across the country.

However, this does not mean that few people are served by the service. This is due to the fact that about 24% of the Brazilian population is concentrated in the capitals. That is, about 50 million people would already have access to the 5G network – if the devices had access to the technology.
